Michel D Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Hello every one, Currently in the Sanenzaka museum, an exhibition "Kinko tsuba". Actually, one may see most of the tsuba shown in the best known book from the museum. Bonus, there are also "new" ones. Beauty is far comments, so, up to you to go there if you hang around Kyoto. My favourites: Goto Ichijo (moon, rain and mapple leaves) illustrated Tanaka Kiyotoshi (tea things) illustrated Kano Natsuo (geese flying over waves) Otsuki Mitsuoki (coquerel) I do not remember the dates but it should not last long. Last year, an exhibition featering Kano Natsuo's works, including 13 tsuba and Shomin's works lasted one month or so. Cheers Quote

Brian Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 :thud: Brian PS - Just take a look at some of the other exhibitions they have hosted. Maybe I am biased, but there is nowhere in the world that can compare in terms of art, technique, quality and variety with the Japanese. http://www.sannenzaka-museum.co.jp/kikaku_kako.html Quote
Pete Klein Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 These publications have pieces from the museum and are worth owning if you are into late Edo Kinko work: All are available on Ebay and the large museum book is also available here: http://sanmei.com/contents/en-us/d24.html Quote
