James,

Shame on you twice.

1 - for daring posting upside pictures of the mei after more than 100 posts as stated Thierry

2 - for daring saying that you have not encountered this mei in your books. This one has been translated in the Translation section more than 100 times and accounts for about 1/3 of the Koto swords mei

Conclusion: you must study how mei are formed and exercise yourself with website as Aoi Art.

Jean, I know what you mean but, I have no shame... only if I make a bad blade. those pics are how I received them . What confused me was I did not realize the tang had been shortened. Additionally I am on some serious medicine and its affecting my eyesight in a big way . I have to read my emails with 2 pair of glasses. Hopefully after I am off the meds my eyesight will Improve..... Domo Arigato..... James ...... :D

James,

Perfectly understood, but:

1 - avoid saying in your post that you have not met this mei in any of your books, which cannot be.

2 - if you can see that the blade is shortened, you can see that the picture is upside down.

Just say the truth, when posting "I am unable to check the picture and decipher the mei due to poor eyesight". We have all our physical weaknesses, there is no shame to confess it and believe me we are many to suffer from something in this Board.

Jean, I appreciate your input . However if its difficult to see right now , it is hard to visualize your words . Just squint your eyes and you will know what I see . I am translating your words with program that turns written language into audible words . I hope this explains my situation

sufficiently . Saru mo ki kara ochiru Domo....... James
