Hello,

 

I would like to learn to read and understand this document and others like it. I realize it is a document issued by the NTHK, subsequent to an in hand examination of a sword by Yoshikawa sensei, but don't know what the individual markings mean nor their relationship to their locations on the document.

 

Would someone kindly link me to a reference article so that I can study the topic or perhaps take me through the basics?
