I would like any opinions if the signature is shoshin or gimei and which generation? I am posting these pictures for a friend. Hawleys list 2 generations in this time period. The sword appears to be signed TsunaToshi and dated 1832

Beware, see nihonto koza shin shinto p 432 and 433. In spite your blade is toran ba hamon

Some taganes are stranges....

 

A friend says me that a toran ba sword is always a good sword, i don't know if it is true or not.........
