Marius Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 Dear All, this exceeds my modest capabilities, I don't even know if I haven't posted it upside down. A friend is asking for the meaning of this hanko... A family history behind it... Thank you for your kind help, it will be highly appreciated Quote
k morita Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 Maybe upside-down. What a family history of your friend? 秋芳園? But i'm wrong. Quote
Marius Posted November 20, 2013 Author Report Posted November 20, 2013 Dear Morita-sensei, Thank you very much for your kind help My friend's history is nothing interesting, he is not Japanese, but Polish, and he has this hanko from his father who travelled to Japan back in the 90s. So, nothing romantic here, just pure curiosity. I hope I have not abused your kindness. I wish it had some romantic history to it... Apologies PS: On another note, a relative of her father was married to a Japanese scholar, Kazuo Yonegawa (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%B1%B3% ... C%E5%A4%AB), and my wife's father has fond memories of him. Quote
