Gilles Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Dear all, I am acquired a nice yari and I've stumbled upon three kanji on the signature. Can you help me ? I will appreciate a lot. Quote
george trotter Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Hi Gilles, It looks like you got the mei correct. It says (I think) Sekishu Ju Tosa no Kami Kanesaki Saku Hawley 1981 list this name as "Sekishu Ju Kanesaki Saku" of Iwami in 1661 ...KAN 2132. Hawley says he is in Toko Taikan p.82, but I did not see him. Also...my sources do not show a Kanesaki as having the title of Tosa no Kami...so it will mean some research I think. Regards, Quote
Gilles Posted June 30, 2013 Author Report Posted June 30, 2013 Thank you very much George, How come I missed that I've spotted this swordsmith in the Markus books "Index of Japanese swordsmith". I have the same data that is to say 1661/1673 Kanbun era. Quote
