Justin Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Just wondering if anyone can help me to translate this hakogaki by Dr Kanzan Sato. It is for a set of Ezo menuki from the mid-Muromachi period. Any help would be much appreciated. Quote
Curran Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 The pros please double check me. Right to left columns: (1) Oburojin-ji _(? carved?)__ (2) Iroe mumei (3) Ezo (4) Muromachi period (5) (20th century date of hakogaki) (6) Kanzan Sato (?) Quote
Markus Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 The first line reads "oborogin-ji" and "katachibori" and the date is "spring Showa 36 (1961)". And the inscription on the lid reads "shishi-menuki". Quote
Justin Posted May 10, 2013 Author Report Posted May 10, 2013 Thank you Curran and Markus. You guys are the best! Quote
