Jiro49 Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 I believe thats only for importation as they were made in Japan. Im sure quite a few never left and still needed to be registered by the owners.. Regards, Quote
Ronin Akuma Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 I like the age of the sword... "OLD." Quote
cabowen Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Typically a showa stamped sword is not given a license in Japan, regardless of whether it is being imported or was found in someone's attic. However, sometimes a sympathetic shinsa'in will license such a sword if it is brought in my the original owner, his family, etc., and has a great deal of sentimental value. It is rare, but I have seen it happen and have talked at length about this with a good friend who is a shinsa'in for registrations in his prefecture. Quote
Kai-Gunto Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 Dosnt look like a flaw , but a scratch. Quote
