shibeni Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 Hallo to all, Is it possible to determined if my ww2 katana(Shoshinshi Kanenemune- no showa stamp) is tempered or not. As it is seen on pictures the "temper" line is wery hard to see, maybe bacause it is out of polish or It is yust a finger-ston polish that look s like a temper? Bojan S. R Slovenia Quote
Stephen Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 from the pix in hand would be best...IMHO its worth a polish and looks to be water temper. from the pix you can see koashi and a white line above the hamon. If you have polished please share the pix. Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 you can see koashi Hmm, I've just got to get a new computer monitor and have my eyes checked. Quote
shibeni Posted May 6, 2007 Author Report Posted May 6, 2007 Hallo, My WW2 katana has no arsenal stamps on the tang only kanjis (shoshinshi Kanemune). It is difficult to make a god pix of the "hamon", which is best seen in low part of the blade, where the polish is still pretty ok. If it s possible, in some way to find out that the blade is realy water tempered, I will ask for recommendation for polisher, if it s possible in Europe. Bojan S. Slovenia Quote
stekemest Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 Where exactly do you come from? I know a good polisher from Germany. edit: just saw that you come from Slovenia. If you want, I'll send you the email adress of the German togishi. I don't know anyone from Slovenia. Quote
Carlo Giuseppe Tacchini Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 Another good one is in Italy. Quote
