Never mention the words weapons/swords or it will be returned to sender and you might get a police visit later on :/ Since 2023 it's forbidden to buy any kind of weapons through the internet (as a private person). Quote from DKBUZA (dutch): Voortaan (sinds 31/12/2022) is het verboden om: - te kopen per postorder of via internet, van: o wapens (alle wapens, zie voor een indicatieve definitie punt 3.4. Omzendbrief van 25/10/2011 over de toepassing van de wapenwetgeving) o losse onderdelen aan de wettelijke proef onderworpen (zie artikel 1, 5° KB 10/3/2022: “5° onderdeel onderworpen aan de proef: origineel onderdeel of identiek vervangstuk, ontworpen voor een vuurwapen, essentieel voor de werking ervan, onderworpen aan sterke mechanische belastingen bij het schieten en opgenomen in het kader van het <reglement> van de Overeenkomst of in bijlage 1 bij dit besluit”, d.i. dus het frame, de loop, de trommel van revolvers, het sluitstuk en de slede van pistolen, de sluit- en grendelstukken en de bascule).

  12. When reading Mr. Stein's site and the links Carlo provided , i'm finding 2 different names for the person : 1. Chounsai Emura 2. Shigetaro Emura Are those both the same person ? Dave

  14. The Mei trasslation was already a big help. Thxs a lot !! The price they are asking is around 2500 euro or 3400 usd. Is that a reasonable price for a piece like this ? As I read on Mr. Stein's site, some of his students also used the same signature so i believe it's really hard to be sure Chounsai Emura made the sword ? Thxs, Dave

  21. @SwordGuyJoe, i'm not that fast but i already felt a bit weird...A few days after signing up here on the board, somebody contact (at an email nobody use to contact me ) me to offer a cheap katana..hm.. It's indeed the same guy and when i mailed him back to ask for better pics he replied You can't say he's not very specific :D Thxs for the heads up ! Dave

  23. Think i'm not the only one who received a mial here but according to the seller, although the sword is mounted as a military sword, the blade itself should date back to the 18e century. Any help is appreciated here before i make a descission The quality of the pics isn't that well.. Thxs Dave
