Hi, I’m a bit concerned about this habaki. Its a gold foiled one. The inside seem to developed this but I’m not sure its rust or just normal patina for antique Habakai .

Usa Ju Nobukuni Newest sword in my collection. And yes, almost sliced my hand off coming out of the box. Haven’t had the chance to study it in depth yet, but here are some specs: Nagasa: 75.4 cm Sori: 2.8 cm Motohaba: 3.02 cm Sakihaba: 1.93 cm Motogasane: 0.67 cm Sakigasane: 0.43 cm Weight: 681 grams Signed “Usa Ju Nobukuni – August Day”(宇佐住信国 八月日), this katana was forged in the Tenshō era (1570s–80s), during a time of great upheaval that culminated in the infamous Honnō-ji Incident. It was made in the final days of the Buzen Nobukuni school, just before they left Usa after their patrons, the Ajimu clan, were overthrown by Ōtomo Sōrin in 1582. The smiths later continued under Kuroda Nagamasa in Chikuzen, forming the Chikuzen Nobukuni lineage.

-
I think it’s the one from 2020. Where everyone discussed about the old scoring system.

Hi guys, just received my Kyo-kino Fuchi Kashira today. Im on the hunt for matching tsuba and menuki. Any help would be great please . Edo-Period Kyō-Kinkō Fuchi-Kashira An excellent example of Edo-period sword fittings from the Kyō-Kinkō school. Crafted from shakudō (a copper-gold alloy) and featuring precision sukidashi-takabori (high-relief carving) with a remarkably smooth finish, this fuchi-kashira is adorned with finely detailed chrysanthemum motifs. The use of gold inlay (zōgan) enhances its elegance, embodying the refined standards of Kyoto metalwork tradition.

Is this sword more of Soshu or Yamato ?
Bosco replied to Bosco's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
I know a guy, he cleans up abandoned house or something like that in Japan. He came across lot of swords hidden from those house. He then sold them to dealer at cheap price because they were all in bad shape. I might ask him to save anything in odachi size now 😆 -

I know right, there will be no business in this hobby if everyone going for the top notch smith worth $100,000. I swear when I first posted my first purchase here I got smacked real hard as well. -

They based on the signed examples right ?. How do we know the signed one was the legit one as well ?. What if all the signed one was actually replicated and none legit one was signed 😆. I don’t know man, but hey I love sword they’re metal, precious metal !. Just my newbie logic, please excuse my opinion.
