Just my guess but from the way 守 is written, I think http://houjouji.web....shinkan_kanekuni.htm is bit similiar.
-
My bad. What I meant was that I thought there could be 2 seperate possibilities- either 1 or 2.

My sister and I've talked bit about this an understood those 2 figures like this; Human on the left has 羽衣, and the top one looks as if he or she is changing from or to a tree. So I think it could be 1. Daoism and Buddhism - Buddha and the Bodhi Tree 2. Takemonogatari - Kaguya princess's born and leave

Here, this is papered Omura Kaboku mei. https://ginza.choshu.../r2/04/02_kaboku.htm To me "Omura" part seems quite similiar. But the date I'm not sure...

I think I won't try this one. That patina there looks unnatrually straight....

Bo-hi looks odd. It's uneven; seems like it gets wider near middle part and become narrow at the end.

Can you give us more clear photo of 1st and 2nd sword's tang? Especially 2nd one because I'm not even sure if 1st one's mei is written in legit kanji. I'm no expert but from my personal experience, I recommend you buying polished & papered sword.

I've seen people giving up their sword for lots of reasons- when you take the sword to the police station and cancel the registration, the blade will be collected by them but you can take the fittings home. Since the fittings itself doesn't need any qualification to have it, many take them as some kind of souvenir. Also, I think other reason is because people prefer putting the blade in saya when it is not used. Yoon

Oh so this is about 七福神- Japanese version of Seven Star Gods? I think I now see him pointing his hands. Never thought that round shape would be someone's head. Thanks alot Jay and Colin! -
Hello NMB members, I've got this set of menuki from the worn tsuka. And I'm happy they are in good shape! But I can't recognize what theme this set is trying to show- well a baby and a old man for the top one I see, but really no idea what bottom one is at all. Can anyone help me gain bit more knowledge about this piece? P.S. Is there a good book or an article about how to distinguish tosogu whether they are casted or not? I've tried finding some books in my country but we have like zero information(none in my language!) about this hobby.

高○右 for the top one maybe?

Hello NMB members, Just here to show my newly obtained kozuka and dragon tsuba. It has one small horse(which is cute) that makes me very happy! Now maybe I should start finding matching pairs... Yoon

Franco, You are right. I think I may have cleaned fuchi well, but on the other hand kashira is now... Seems like I've rubbed out bit too much. I think I'll just stop here and just oil it frequently to try my best NOT to rust it again. Maybe I should take them to show professional when I go to Japan. So... yeah. Learned my lesson in a hard way. Bazza, Just bought koshirae, no blade was included! But yes, seller did mention it was made in Edo period. Not sure about the exact year. Yoon

Hello Fumei, Not 100% sure of second character but it seems like either 和纠住包友 or 和到住包友. I don't think it's someone's name. Yoon

Thanks for the reply&advice everyone. I'll not try vinegar. So basically repeating "small amount of oil use(or maybe not using is the best?) -> gentle brushing -> wipe with paper towel" until I get rid of green right? Under images are what they look like right now after some oiling & toothbrushing. Thanks, Yoon

Hello, I've found something that looks like mei while looking at the seppa. The first two seems like 仁手 to me- but I can't identify the last character. Can somebody help me identify the last character? Thanks, Yoon

Hello, everyone. I've got interested in this hobby like 2 months ago, and started buying things. It was my first time buying koshirare(cheap one!) with tosogu that followed with it, and got items this wednesday. Was super happy seeing it. But I have one problem now : it has too much greenish corrosion and I don't know how to remove it! I've oiled them with tsubaki oil for now, but I do want to get rid of these. Does anyone have an idea to remove these? Should I try putting them in vineger for a while and rub it with toothbrush? Thanks, Yoon
