MIHARA MASACHIKA WAKIZASHI for sale UBU NBTHK HOZON MUROMACHI PERIOD (ca. 1500AD) SHIRASAYA and KOSHIRAE 53.2CM NAGASA / 21" Weight: 525g Motohaba: 2.88cm Motogasane: .72cm Mune: Iori Sword Location : NYC Will ship to : ANYWHERE Payment Methods Accepted : zelle, venmo, check, cash Price and Currency : $4000 This wakizashi was made for the warring states period. It is well-balanced and has as strong form and shape for cutting. It features several kirikomi scars from battle on the mune. The jihada is well-forged, tight and healthy, in a fine ko-itame, with pale utsuri. The boshi is fully intact, in the "kaen" or "head on fire" shape. It has retained its kaeri "turn backs" and is in its original shape. MEI: Signed with eight characters: "Bishu Mihara-ju Masachika Saku." His real name was Kuroda Sukeroku. Koshirae: Antique koshirae with metal fittings, menuki: millet, kozuka: chrysanthemums, tsuba: iron openwork insect and antler motif. Note- this koshirae does not have a kogatana for the kozuka. They are from Bingo province, and were known for making large war swords with suguha hamon and an impressive sugata for the battlefield.
