I served 4 years on the same ship, USS Kirk DE- 1087. My last 11 months was in Dry Dock in Yokosuka from June 1976 until M1977. We did a lot of touring & exploring but none thing to do with blades.

We evacuated our Marines out of Cambodia then went to Vietnam and evacuated Sigon. This was all in April 1975. The Navy said we weren’t there. When they finally did figure it out they made a documentary about our ship. I’m in it a bunch, watch it past the end of the credits, I’m the last guy to speak. I’m not a hero, just a sailor doing my job.
