kusunokimasahige Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 The Mon on the hilt looks to me like the Imperial Chrysanthemum Mon. Now if that makes this a military dagger of a type from before 1900 I dont know. KM Quote
Kai-Gunto Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Its not a kikumon on the dirk ,its a plum blossom. Quote
shingen Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Thomas, these Plum Blossom "Menuki" were standard on that type of dagger right? I know that he late war ones did not have the Menuki's (you thought me:)) so this would be standard right? Quote

I dont think this type evolved like the IJN ones in materials.due to lack of metal mid/end war. Quote
