Thomas, these Plum Blossom "Menuki" were standard on that type of dagger right? I know that he late war ones did not have the Menuki's (you thought me:)) so this would be standard right?

Yes, standard on this type. I dont think this type evolved like the IJN ones in materials.due to lack of metal mid/end war.

Theres the navy inspection mark ( sakura with anchor) and the Nakano Shoten mark .this company was located in Tokyo and had shops in China. The company provided a full range of koshirae.
