edzo Posted March 8, 2012 Author Report Posted March 8, 2012 Dear cabowen, thanks very much do you have any idea of a school? Ed Quote
John A Stuart Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Like Chris, i couldn't find that kanji as an alternative kanji for 彦 in 彦根, but, if it is Hikone that does lead to the school. John Quote
Markus Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Its an uncommon way of writing but its definitely "Hiko(ne)". Sometimes the sanbu-radical (彡) is written with the lowermost stroke facing to the right. Remember the "Sugi" (杉) variant we had recently in another thread? http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/viewtopi ... &sk=t&sd=a Quote
