I need help.

I have a small collection of Tsubas. A large part of this collection has not been for sale for more than 50 years. Due to illness I have to sell my collection, and I would therefore like to have help for a valuation. Not so much in terms of price but in relation a description of the school, period, design etc.

In the years I have collected Tsuba, my criterion for collecting has always been visual and of course the size of my wallet.

When I sell the collection I will offer a donation for this forum.

I've done my best throughout the years to take care of my collection.

I very much hope that someone will give me a helping hand.

Thank you in advance.

First one: Mokume

I have seen the same design in The Arts of the Japanese Sword by B.W. Robinson. Illustration 105.

Second one: Onu Or Kyamma

Third one: Ko-nara

Lovely.

I cannot offer any useful info, but I can say I have the matching fuchi/kashira for that last one :)

I don't know what to make of that mokume one. Captivating and unusual. Another one for Ford maybe?

No-one with any info at all? Some interesting tsuba here. I would presume the last one to be correctly listed as Nara school...not so sure about Ko-Nara.

Second one...do you mean Ono/Kanayama? Doesn't appear to be either to me, but I am not a tsuba expert.

Hi Everyone,

Not sure about the first two but the third one is a Nara school tsuba like middle Edo Period. It is not Ko-Nara. Hope you find the information helpful.
