I do like to know if one of you own a Mantetstuto in fresh polish. If so I dare asking a few close up up of the blade.

I am looking for someone who sent his Mantetstuto to a good polisher to see what it looks like when this kind of showato is properly polished.

I am now approaching a friend with mantetsu blade ... see if I can buy it from him and get a proper polish for it, I'll let you know :D

What is the point of a traditional polish on a non-traditionally made blade? Mantetsu blades do not have the beauty inherent to Nihon-to and therefore a traditional polish is just going to be an expensive waste of time.....

Maybe not as beautifull as a true nihonto but could be better than a standard Seki showato...that is what I want to check.

 

Even if it is a non sense for some it is probably worthy for others and I am sure someone out there has a fresh polished Mantestu!

A good polisher would reject a Mantetsu. I've seen a few in decent polish and they look just like the artswords.com example posted earlier. When you see one in hand its a tight ko-itame jigane but is featureless with no nie or activity.
