John,

I'm assuming this is also just koshirae and no blade?

These swords, when fully mounted, would have not used older, traditional blades? Or are they also occasionally found with family blades like some of the other Kyu-Guntos?

Are you a collector of the complete spectrum of Japanese military pattern swords?

Hi Brian,

 

This sword has a blade alright but I don't know why the vendor didn't accompany the lot with photos of the blade. I am still waiting for his reply.

 

Its standing at $2300, so far I am high bidder and it end s tomorrow.

 

Incidently, on the top photo you'll see the registeration card.

 

I collect only to the Navy. There are a lot of minty stuff coming out of Japan now due the recent deaths of the wartime generation.
