njacobsen Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Here is a link to a picture I tooK: http://s1046.photobucket.com/albums/b47 ... =Sword.jpg It is from a sword my Grandpa brought back from Japan during WWII. The tassel on the handle supposedly means it was from a high ranking member of the Japanese Military. Quote
Jamie Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Out of Curiosity what color is the tassle? I can't translate Mei yet, but others will graciously help you there. You might want to post more pics of the sword though. I'm sure most everyone will want to see it as well. Jamie Quote
njacobsen Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 Jamie- I will post more pics as soon as I get home from work. I believe the tassel is purplish with gold stripes or vice versa. Can't remember at this moment. I'm a total novice with this. But will definitely post more pics soon. Quote
njacobsen Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 It has been translated to "Ichihara Ichiryushi Nagamitsu". Anyone know anything about this smith? Quote
