Hector Posted August 3 Report Posted August 3 Hi, This is a two character signature on a tsuba I'm considering buying. The seller has no idea and I can't make it out at all as it's so worn. 😳 Any ideas very gratefully received! Best, Hector Quote
YourBabyBjornBorg Posted August 3 Report Posted August 3 Hi! The first character is 紀/Ki, but I'm not sure what the second one is (it's not 内, maybe something with a 釒 on the left), and I can't do any guesswork because I know nothing about Tosogu 2 Quote

Bugyotsuji Posted August 3 Report Posted August 3 Hmmm... normally you might expect two kanji to follow 紀 Quote

Following the lead given me by Joe @YourBabyBjornBorg I found that this is usually the first kanji of a three character signature for the Myochin school. 3 Quote
