Hello! Can anyone translate the writing on this saya? It came back with a soldier from the war

Hi! This looks like 朝倉郡 Asakura Gun (I think Gun is kind of like city but more rural) 福田村 Fukuda Village 大字平塚 Ooaza Hiratsuka (a place in this Fukuda Village) 原田逸次 Harada Itsuji (a person's name) 三条吉則作 Sanjo Yoshinori Saku ("made by Sanjo Yoshinori", signature of this sword or its appraisal) 二二号 No. 22 (or No. 4? Not likely).

 

Records of this Harada Itsuji person can be seen in quite some pre-war documents.

 

 

This is from a post-war book commemorating 527 Imperial Japanese soldiers who committed suicide after the Emperor's unconditional surrender, its publisher ironically named "Free Asia Company" 

 

"Sergeant Harada Ryoji(or Sukeyuki), son of Harada Itsuji, Ooaza Hiratsuka, Amagi City (Now part of Asakura City), August 20th."

 

Still looking for more info about Itsuji.

 

 

The earliest document I can find in 1914. Working as a housemaster and teacher at Asakura Middle School.

 

(Why are there so many Army officials listed alongside with teachers?)

Still working as a teacher in Asakura Middle School, 1940.

 

 

Receiving Royal bonus salary as a middle school teacher in Fukuoka Province (where Akakura is) in the 1941's Official Gazette.

 

 

Receiving the honor of 従六勲 in the 1940's celebration of the Japanese imperial year 2600 in the 1942's Official Gazette.

 

This is one of many times he received royal honors on the Official Gazette.

 

 

Last record I could find, seen here working at Amagi Girls‘ High School (formally Asakura Middle School) as a part‐time lecturer in the Asakura Yearbook 1946 edition, so he survived WWII, but perhaps not for long, for he was not in the 1948 edition Yearbook, or he just retired.
