William Jennings Posted Tuesday at 01:04 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:04 AM Hey everyone! I have the chance to buy this nihonto in gunto mounts. I have several questions about it. The seller says it’s signed “Kanesada” (Nosada) because of the special kanji that was used and that it is from the muromachi era. Is it authentic? Or do you think it’s gimei?? also, I know the sword is in gunto mounts but the Ito wrap style is unusual. Is this Satsuma style wrap? Quote
Nobody Posted Tuesday at 02:08 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:08 AM The mei is 関住兼貞作 (Seki ju Kanesada made.). This Kanesada is also a good smith. However, the smith is not 之定 (Nosada) or even popular 兼定 (Kanesada). Quote
William Jennings Posted Tuesday at 02:13 AM Author Report Posted Tuesday at 02:13 AM @Nobody can you give me any details on which specific “Kanesada” signed this so I can do some research? Like when Kanesada was alive or which generation? Quote
