Bruce Pennington Posted May 5 Report Posted May 5 Great sword, Steve, is this yours or are you shopping? I see you've been doing your homework! Ha! You get an "A-", though. The stamp is "Logo of the Yasugi (Yasuki) Steel Co., headquartered in Yasugi City, Shimane prefecture. (Slough, pg 98)". I have Kanemichi, Katsumasa, and Masafusa so far, with the logo. Quote
Dogditcher Posted May 6 Author Report Posted May 6 Bruce-these are still from my father in laws collection I thought that was the name of the stamp was above each picture - i realize now that is the sword smith So please tell what the Mei translates I hope everyone is amused by my lack knowledge-it adds a little excitement to the forum Logo of the Yasugi (Yasuki) Steel Co., headquartered in Yasugi City, Shimane prefecture. (Slough, pg 98) Thanks all for the replies Quote
mecox Posted May 6 Report Posted May 6 Steve, for details and examples of Kojima Katsumasa go to NMB Downloads (line at top on page) and find paper " Kojima Tokijiro Kanemichi etc" . That is interesting example of a wartime civilian koshirae. 2 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted May 6 Report Posted May 6 Boy, that sellers description threw me way off. I thought this was a Masayuki blade, but it's not. It is Katsumasa. I've edited my post above. The mei: Noshu Seki ju Kojima Katsumasa saku 濃州関 住小島勝正作 Quote
