Newguymike Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 I’ve recently acquired a sword and would like help. I’ve had some translation help and have been told that the sword smith worked in the 1640s; but I’m concerned about the condition of the other handle parts and blade. Please see photos attached. Ray Singer Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 I believe the mei is Izumi (no) kami Kanesada - 和泉守兼重. A clearer, correctly oriented photo would be appreciate though. https://nihontoclub.com/smiths/KAN2268 Quote
Newguymike Posted April 24 Author Report Posted April 24 @Ray Singer, I sent you an email with more pictures; I hope those pictures are better. Quote
Ray Singer Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 Thank you Mike, I corrected the translation above based on the photos you sent by email. Quote
