Guest When Necessary Posted January 14, 2025 Report Posted January 14, 2025 Me again, I was looking at a blade with a torokusho allegedly from Showa 16. Were they actually issued that early before the end of the war? Â Thanks! Dee Quote
Lewis B Posted January 14, 2025 Report Posted January 14, 2025 Torokusho registration started early 1951 as far as I'm aware Quote
Scogg Posted January 14, 2025 Report Posted January 14, 2025 Can we see the torokusho from Showa 16? Maybe a typo or mis-translation as Showa 26 would be 1951? Here's an interesting write-up detailing post-war sword production: https://www.Japanese...ndex.com/history.htm All the best, -Sam Quote

I found out that it is the forerunner to an torokusho, issued by a "Cultural Property Protection Committee" in Showa 16. Quote
