frkirk Posted December 26, 2024 Report Posted December 26, 2024 #1 Akasaka Tusba Mid-Edo 7.15 x 6.95 cm x .4 cm Weight 87 g I am unsure of the school but see elements of both Akasaka and Higo in the design. Stylized pine and paulownia design. Significant areas of wear that has worn away some of the detailed carving. Patina is rich and glossy and surface is very smooth. Was once a very nice tsuba #2 Katcchushi Tsuba Tomoe Design Early-Mid Edo 7.2 x 6.95 x .4 cm rim/.3 center Weight 75 g Dents/damage to rim and loss of patina in places. Surface feels “dry” A good restoration project. #3 Rectangular Owari-style Tsuba Later Edo 6.4 cm x 5.9 cm x .4 cm Weight 82 g Well constructed with nice patina #4 Round Owari-style Tsuba Later Edo 6.9 cm x 6.9 cm x .4 cm Weight- 86 g Some spots where the patina was rubbed. Otherwise good condition. $500/OBO plus shipping/insurance for the lot More pics available on request If sold via NMB a donation will be made to the platform 1 Quote
