hddennis Posted June 9, 2024 Report Posted June 9, 2024 Been offered this yanone but have never seen this style before. Can anyone verify this is an authentic shape or style that would have been used by a Japanese archer? Thanks, Howard Dennis Quote
Geraint Posted June 9, 2024 Report Posted June 9, 2024 Dear Howard. Personally I would not categorise this as Japanese. Quite a number of Asian archery systems use tanged arrow heads, as opposed to socketed, and I would start looking at the Indian subcontinent. All the best. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted June 9, 2024 Report Posted June 9, 2024 I would not have expected to see a YANONE in the KACHU section, but anyhow... It looks cast or at least press forged to my eyes, and it could have been made for a crossbow arrow (in case it was not just a decorative item). Quote
hddennis Posted June 9, 2024 Author Report Posted June 9, 2024 Thank You Geraint & Rokujuro, You have confirmed what I first thought and I think I'll pass on this one. It was just the right size for the number 7 slot on my new display and the size matched the number 9 very closely and that was why I was considering it. Howard Dennis 2 1 Quote
Matsunoki Posted June 10, 2024 Report Posted June 10, 2024 Nice to see some genuine ones and not the Indian fakes. Lovely collection in honest condition. 1 Quote
