WWII Sword Tang Translation - ?? Ichimonji

Hello,

I purchased this sword about 13 years ago and at that time was not completely successful in translating the tang. Fast forward to today, and I came across this excellent forum where I thought I would continue my search. I feel pretty confident that it is a Showa era sword and that the last 3 kanji refer to ICHIMONJI, but can't seem to make out the first part. Anyone got an idea? Think it is early 40's production?

Thanks very much for your assistance!
