You can read it in English. I translated it a couple of years back :)  My version has the Louvre collection from 1894 and his Chronological collection of 144 'Sabre Guards' from the 10th to the 18th century [originally published in 1902] 88 pages in all.  Some of the original tsuba are to be found in the Guimet Museum in Paris, donated by Hayashi.

How Amazon can sell the soft cover version for less than I can buy my own book is crazy! Perhaps they make up the difference by selling the hardcover for twice what I pay? :o
