Nicholas Posted August 9, 2023 Report Posted August 9, 2023 Hi, I would like some help finding oshigata to verify a signature of a sword I recently picked up signed Awataguchi Fujiwara Kanetsuna. I cannot find the name in any of the books I have or online anywhere. If anyone has any info can you please share. Supposed to be 2 generations. Thank you, Nicholas Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted August 9, 2023 Report Posted August 9, 2023 Don't know the era you're looking at, but JSI has 2: kanetsun.jpg (100×434) (japaneseswordindex.com) kanetsn2.jpg (95×391) (japaneseswordindex.com) Quote

This is the only one I have found also but couldn’t read the description. The signature on my sword is very close. I’m wondering if it’s the second generation but the sword has a kanbun Shinto shape. Jacques Posted August 11, 2023 Report Posted August 11, 2023 According the Nihonto meikan, there is no nidai Kanetsuna. Quote
