Wakizashi by Hizen Masahiro for sale

I am offering for sale a excellent Wakizashi by Hizen Nidai Masahiro

Nidai Masahiro, his real name is Hashimoto Yashichirō, son of the 1st gen. Masahiro
He received the honorary title Musashi no Daijō on the Manji three, this title was raised to Musashi no Kami on the Kanbun one (1661)

but was changed on the Kanbun five (1665) to Kawachi no Kami, with this he changed his name from Masanaga (正永) that he had used so far to Masahiro (正広)
He died on the sixth day of the eighth month Genroku twelve (1699) at the age of 73
He made this wakizashi in Enpo 4 (1676) at the height of his career at the age of 50

First class shirasaya

 

Wide and powerful gorgeous wakizashi forged in ko-itame hada with lots of ji-nie (Konuka hada)
Hamon is nie deki, o-gunome midare with ko-notare, deep nioiguchi with ahi and yo.
The blade is perfectly healthy with a first class polish

So - you could tell your wife that you actually invested in another kind of honest “jewelry”, that actually could be worn as such 🤓 She might understand and accept that. You might however end up in trouble, but no gain without a little risk 😜👍

I’ve actually been showing my wife some yomeiri tanto and suggesting she might like one…unfortunately she saw right through me and told me I was not getting another blade this year… ( mistakes were made and I accidentally purchased four….when the agreed limit  was one )……still with two daughters I should be investing in two nice Yomeiri Tanto for the future…( I will try that argument next year).
