Hi everyone I was able to get find the person who sold me the flag and had very interesting dialogue He was honest and upfront Firstly I did the black light test he recommended The the flag didn’t glow like the paper I also blue light the Muro Ko label and did not glow Why would the label  not glow unless it’s authentic ?

All in all I’m leaning towards Authentic

I copied the paragraphs of the his comments below He also offered to return the flag for a full refund

I found it. Poster does not say it’s a fake, he says he can’t authenticate it, which is smart, since he does not have it in hand. He Says: common name, no town or association notes on the flag which is very common. I have several flags that have been written by younger men or even a less educated person, that may present like this. Silk does not always yellow. It depends on how this flag was kept. Some soldiers had several flags. I suspect this flag was kept at home and possibly brought home post war by a returning GI. I am very certain it’s legit and has a rare Maru-Ko label on it. If you hold a piece of modern computer paper next to it when you black light it, you will see the “glow” you should watch out for. I will still take it back, as you are not happy with it. These are selling for nearly $300 nowadays. I will keep my eyes out for a “battle captured” flag for you!

Yes, compare yards compare those two. There are many great articles written by Nick Komiya at war relics forum. He talks about what the Maru Ko label is. It’s about fixed pricing for wartime goods to stabilize the economy.  Immobile on silk flags of the time.because the flag is so nice, and the label is intact, that’s how I came up with the deduction that the flag was one that was kept at home while the soldier departed to the war. Likely an informal Flag of friends.
