Hello gentlemens!

A friend of mine got this iron tsuba with a sword he bought and asked me for

assistance but I'm not able to help him with that.

Made of iron and has some kind of lacquer on it.

I have a strange feeling about it so my question is shall he keep it or is it a repro/fake?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Hello,

I also have a strange feeling with you tsuba.

Shape of nakago ana and hitsu ana are badly done, the ground looks rough.

Cast tsuba ?

regards

To be honest I don't see anything wrong, beside maybe low grade tsua, an Edo period Tosho style tsua. Though mokko gata would not be the shape to represent this school of tsuba. I might be wrong ofcourse but I don't think it is fake, at list not from these photos.
