The mei looks 牡甫, though I do not know its reading (Boho, O-ho???). It resembles 杜甫 ( Toho: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Du_Fu ), and I suspect that it might be a parody at first. :?:

The inscription on the kozuka is the first half of a poem by Li Po. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li_Bai )

望廬山瀑布, 李白

日照香爐生紫煙

遥看瀑布拄前川 (but "…... 掛長川" on the kozuka)

飛流直下三千尺

疑是銀河落九天

The Cataract in view, by Li Po

The Sun burns Mount Lu in purple haze.

The torrent leaps headlong to my amaze.

The cataract is three thousands feet tall.

As though the sky let the Galaxy fall.
