FZ1 Posted May 12, 2022 Report Posted May 12, 2022 Hi All, I need to post a sword within the UK, but the highest value insurance cover I can find is Parcelforce at £2,500. Does anyone know of any carriers that will provide higher cover? Any assistance much appreciated. Thanks, Jon EDIT: Admin - if the query is not allowed, please delete or move - Thanks Quote
Matsunoki Posted May 12, 2022 Report Posted May 12, 2022 Hi Jon parcelforce will not handle swords/blades if they know that is what it is. I suspect that means their insurance would be invalidated anyway if a problem occurred. Have a look at their terms and conditions, in particular the “prohibited items”. I know it’s a nightmare sending anything now and I can’t give you a viable alternative. I urge caution. If it’s really valuable how about meeting the recipient halfway and handing it over? Peace of mind……. regards. Colin 1 Quote
FZ1 Posted May 12, 2022 Author Report Posted May 12, 2022 Thanks Colin, I hadn't spotted that in their Ts&Cs. Yes, a meet-part-way is looking increasingly likely! Quote
Alex A Posted May 13, 2022 Report Posted May 13, 2022 Parcelfarce wont insure anything described as antique. Maybe try someone else like UPS or as mentioned, hit the road. Quote
