I purchased a "antique" katana from a chinese dealer.Even thou I think its a fake, It has NONE of the hallmarks of a fake. It is a true differentially tempered, and folded blade, not acid etched, and the grain is tight. The tang is signed, the name (translated at our Japanese cultural center) is Yoshikowa Kojiro. If its not a fake, has anyone heard of of this smith?

I am pretty sure pics are going to be necessary here.

As an aside... Eiji Yoshikawa wrote the Musashi novel, where Musashi's main opponent was Sasaki Kojiro

Maybe someone is using the 2 names out of irony. Haven't heard of a swordsmith with that name.
