National Treasure Book

I just picked up this book, Japanese Swords, National Treasures of Japan Vol. 8.  Hadn't seen it before, but always wondered why there was no National Treasure book with good pictures like the ones put out by the Sano Museum.

Does anyone have it?  Has anyone seen Volumes 1-7 or 9+?

I've been planning to get the whole 15 book set but as the shipping for that is super expensive I've put that on hold. And since mostly the Vol 8 on swords is the one I've been interested in, and I have all the National treasures covered in other references at the moment.

 

You can find that whole 15 book set for very cheap prices in Japan. The problem will be expensive shipping...

so Vol 8 is the only one that covers swords?

Yes, I believe that book should have all the 110 swords and 12 koshirae that are National Treasures if I've understood correctly.

The book arrived today, much faster than was estimated.  It's great -- huge, similar to the Sano Museum series but even bigger, with brief English language text on every page with an index.  B&W pictures with good detail, some koshirae, but no oshigata.  In any case, all the 122 National Treasure nihonto/koshirae in one volume.  Pretty cool.
