Kmad Posted October 15, 2018 Report Posted October 15, 2018 Hi I spotted this item in a second hand shop the vendor says it is a bronze plaque which it clearly is not I only have the one bad picure can any information be gleaned form this image thanks Ken tsuba.docx Quote
Shugyosha Posted October 15, 2018 Report Posted October 15, 2018 Hi Ken, I think that it is genuine: I can't see any signs of it being cast rather than forged and I don't think someone making a copy would bother to cut a mei into iron or steel. It's not in great condition though, if it's not too expensive I'd give it a go but I wouldn't pay much more than £75 for it and I'd be happier with something nearer to £50. Best, John Quote
Kmad Posted October 15, 2018 Author Report Posted October 15, 2018 Hi john Thanks for super fast reply I might see what i can negotiate him down to Cheers Ken Quote
Geraint Posted October 15, 2018 Report Posted October 15, 2018 Hi Ken. Can't see much but I'd go for it at those kind of prices. Have a look around Jakushi tsuba. All the best. Quote
lotus Posted October 15, 2018 Report Posted October 15, 2018 I agree with the Jakushi call and yes, appears real. One just sold on ebay for 77 USD. It had more decoration but otherwise fairly similar. That one, however, had the mei on the other side for whatever reason. Quote
