Grey Doffin Posted July 18, 2018 Report Posted July 18, 2018 Hi, name please, 100% real Samurai sword. Not possible for me to tell you how old it is but most likely no earlier than 15th century and no later than 19th century. Here is a care and etiquette site; please read it carefully: http://www.nbthk-ab.org/Etiquette.htm As for getting the sword fixed: Don't try to fix anything yourself and probably best to leave it as is for now. It will have to be seen in hand by someone honest and with knowledge for you to learn much more about what you have. Till then keep it clean and dry and start reading. Grey Quote
Geraint Posted July 18, 2018 Report Posted July 18, 2018 ("Name please". It's at the top of his post Grey.) Michael, lots of Japanese swords have no signature for varoious reasons so don't believe all you have been told. Grey has given you the answer, it's a genuine sword though it has been mistreated. Follow his link and see if you can get ti to one of the sword society's for someone to have a good look in hand. Take care of it and don't be tempted to have a go yourself. Here is an example in good condition, https://www.aoijapan.com/wakizashi-tango-daijo-fujiwara-tsuneshige/ Just to get you interested. Welcome to NMB and this crazy world. Enjoy. All the best. Quote
