Hello Everyone,

What would one consider the best method to reattached the separation of a kozuka at the seam?

Help is much appreciated.

Thank you

Greg

I guess the best would be sending to an expert like Ford Hallam or Paul Martin (Izumi sensei could fix that) and ensure preservation of your art piece.

Probably best not to try and fix it solo

Thank you for your replies.

Is this a somewhat common problem for a kozuka?

If I was able to determine it's cultural value, that would go along way whether to use a skilled craftsman.

I should rephrase "cultural value". All kozuka have a history and importance.

Is the cost justified using a skilled craftsman in this case?

Hard to say, without a knowledgeable understanding of this particular kozuka.
