TheGermanBastard Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 Hello, I have had this Tsuba for many year and wonder what school / age it is? I do not think that it is a Soten piece. Thank you, Luis Quote
Higo-san Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 Hi Luis, your tsuba can be attributed as an Awa Shoami work made in the mid 18th century. A beauftiful tsuba! In case that you are also wondering about the subject: these are called tachibina or traditional standing paper dolls. Best, Chris Quote
ROKUJURO Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 Wow! This must have been a gorgeous TSUBA before corrosion took over! Not because of the gold used, but for the work! What a pity! Quote
TheGermanBastard Posted November 20, 2017 Author Report Posted November 20, 2017 Thanks a lot Chris! Much appreciated. I have been wondering on the teheme and school for this Tsuba a lot. It is a real pitty that there is rust on the Tsuba. I think nothing can be done about it but to apply some oil to prevent further damage. Quote
