Grey Doffin Posted September 29, 2016 Report Posted September 29, 2016 Hi guys, I have a katana signed Koa Isshin Mantetsu Kore wo Saku, dated Showa Kanoto Mi Haru, and the number on the nakago mune is 298. Nagasa is 26 1/4" (66.7 cm) and sori is 1.8 cm. The saya is dented on both sides at the bottom (the picture shows the worst side; the other side dent is minor) but otherwise in very nice condition with only expected field wear (the paint is 90 something % intact). The tsuba is pierced and the tsuka is in excellent condition. The spring clip works properly. The hamon is suguba. There are no nicks, cracks, or openings in the blade and other than for one spot where someone has lightly sanded what probably was a bit of rust (pictured below) there is no corrosion either. The majority of the polished surface has been scuffed, possibly by something like very fine steel wool. These have been bringing silly money on ebay lately but I'd rather sell it here. $2,100 plus post, insurance, and paypal fee if there is one. If you are interested please send me an email, not personal message; I need my email folders to keep track. Thanks, Grey grey @ japaneseswordbooksandtsuba.com (remove those 2 spaces)
