Bungo Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 gang, I am planning on writing an article on hawk paintings for the Jss/us. The artist in question is Tamura Chokuo (circa early 17th cent ) of the Soga school. There are not too many resources on this guy in English.........may be our fellow members in Japan can help me with any info gleamed from the Japanese text ? Chokuo was known as a pupil of Soga Chokuan ( only 9 works by Chokuan are known ). The other well known Soga artist is Nichokuan. For a sample of his signature and seal........... please klick the following link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0022642434 mucha grecias milt THE ronin Quote
