mltokai Posted May 25, 2015 Report Posted May 25, 2015 hi all, i just recive this tsuba from one of my friend , i can not found any information about it.. somebody can help me ? m.lesueur Quote
Marius Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 Yes, it looks like a shinchu (brass) tsuba made in the Edo period (my guess would be late Edo). I cannot attribute it to a school, but the overall feel is Higo, mainly because of the hitsu ana shape. I don't say it is Higo, mind you, but it shows some Higo influence. Maybe someone has seen a similar tsuba with an attribution (other than Shoami, which is a popular grab bag). Hope that helps. 1 Quote
hxv Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 It looks to me as though the hitsu ana were added latter. Regards, Hoanh 1 Quote
Marius Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 Yes, that is a god remark - the openings cut trough the carving. 1 Quote
mltokai Posted May 28, 2015 Author Report Posted May 28, 2015 thanks to all for replying , but don't you think that the shape of the hitsu ana is a little bit strange ? could it be something else than the higo influence ? M.lesueur Quote
