I could know the following new fact by explanation(caption) of this picture.

1)The Showa Emperor wore Type-94 Gunto from March 10, 1934.

2) Fittings (tosogu) was made by Shinbashi SUYA company.

3) The blade was Yasukuni-to.

4) Engraved a family crest chrysanthemum(by "shishiai-bori technique") on the habaki.

5) The tassel was very gorgeous.

Maybe I am wrong but wasn't that sword displayed at the Yasukuni Yushukan? Blade was by Miyaguchi Yasuhiro.....

I think that is the one. I visited the Yasukuni Yushukan last summer and I think I recognise the sword. Interesting place, the Yushukan, with a very peculiar view of History... but very interesting anyway.

Thanks for your replys.

The photo of Showa Emperor's type-94 gunto appeared on a monthly magazine published in 1934.   I don't know who made this blade in Nihonto Tanrenkai.

Probably, SUYA company took the picture when sword equipment was made, in 1934.(?)

There is(was) never fact that Showa Emperor's T-94 sword was exhibited in any museum or art museum.

Additional information:
6)  The menuki is three chrysanthemum.
