shibeni Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 Hello and Happy New Year to all, I have this Kabuto and Menpo for a few years now. Kabuto and Menpo are not from original set, but for display they are ok. together. I kindly ask you for some more info on this type of Kabuto and Menpo . Kabuto is probably from some low ranking solider. Fukigaeshi is cowered with leather with some pattern on it (hart to see). Menpo has "peaceful expression" face and good laquer. Thank You very much, Bojan S. Quote

shibeni Posted January 3, 2015 Author Report Posted January 3, 2015 Hello Uwe, ..sorry... I hope this will work better. Thank you very much, Bojan S. Quote
uwe Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Hi Bojan, starting with the men. It's a so called "Ryûbu-men" from the Edo period. Composed and calm expression, without wrinkles, is typical for this kind of menpo. The kabuto is a simple six plate "Suji-bachi", probably from early/mid Edo. Maybe a bit older (not easy to judge) but modified, like the tehen no kanamono and the fukurin on the fukigaeshi pointing to. Quote
