Hi,

A moderator on my "home" forum suggested that I contact this community for assistance in learning more about a sword that I acquired about 25 years ago.

I am-- by no means-- knowledgeable in this area. I can only say that it was sold to me as a nineteenth century blade. I was too young/inexperienced to ask the right questions.

I realize that the blade is not in ideal condition, but I assure you that this was the condition that it came to me in. I haven't done anything to the blade in the time that I've possessed it.

I would appreciate any information you can provide me as well as a possible value range.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you for the information. Just based on what you have provided-- along with quick search of this forum, I have a lot more information than before.

I suppose my post should be moved to the "Military Swords of Japan" section.

Hi,

The sword signature says "Sato(family name) Kanesumi", WWII period Seki smith(RJT).
