Brian Posted November 6, 2014 Report Posted November 6, 2014 Looks like there were 3 of them. Ludolf thinks this one is the second. F: Yokoya Suzuki N: Iemon nyudo name Soyu Yoshisada W: Shinbashi in Edo D: died 1772, signed to the age of 75 NTS: first son of Suzuki Soju H 08899, and student of the first Somin H 08917. This artist worked in the classic style of the early Yokoya school. Much of his work was equal to that of his teachers. SCE. W—39—L—7, W—I—16, K.p.—39, K.p.—79, K.p.—438 F: Yokoya Ishikawa N: Kyuzo Yumin W: Edo D: ca. 1750—1800 NTS: son—in—law and student of the first Terukiyo H 09579. B.C. p. 438 #539 D1029 illus. p. 278, iron octofoil shape with ishime surface and inlaid in gold and silver with many different spring and fall plants, covering the entire surface of both sides, signed: Yokoya Terukiyo and kao. A work that unsigned would not be identifiable. This artist sometimes signed: nidai Terukiyo, mostly in his later years, but he was capable of working in any plate metal and any style of work. In fact he was famous for his many imitations and forgeries, made mostly during the period of 1781—89, some of which no doubt have passed as the work of his adopted father. SCE. W—39—L—8 F: Yokoya Ishikawa N: Genhachiro Minosuke Terushige Sokyo Yoshisada W: Edo D: ca. 1775—1825 NTS: son of the second Terukiyo H 09580. Moslé p. 342 #1095, shibuichi kozuka inlaid with two shakudo crows in flight, against a copper sun and carved clouds, signed: Terushige Quote
