stevennorton Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 A friend posted this on Facebook asking for opinions. I believe it to be a copy and probably newer Chinese made. To me it just lacks the quality of being a real one. The blade looks sharpened with a grinder and I'm thinking it's acid etched. But I want to make sure and he is asking for a second opinion. So what is your expert opinions? I know you guys have forgotten more than I will ever know. Steve Norton Quote
hxv Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 Steven, You are absolutely correct in your assessment. Good work! Also, please tell your friend that if it were a real Japanese sword, he would not want to touch any part of the blade (except for the bare tang) with his fingers or any part of his body. It will induce oxidation & rust almost immediately. Regards, Hoanh Quote
stevennorton Posted October 1, 2014 Author Report Posted October 1, 2014 Thanks for taking the time to respond guys! I really appreciate it. Thank you. Steve Norton Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Replica wakizashi of the same type as my replica katana. One of the better looking ones though compared to much of the muck they sell. KM Quote
